The chapters of the manga series Yankee-kun to Megane-chan are written and illustrated by Miki Yoshikawa. The first chapter premiered in Weekly Shōnen Magazine on October 18, 2006, which is where the series has continued its serialization since then. Individual chapters have been collected and republished in tankōbon volumes by Kodansha, which released the first volume in May 6th, 2008.
As of May 18, 2011, 23 volumes have been released in Japan.[1] Of all volumes, 1 of them, namely volume 11 have an alternative special edition. Not only do they had a different cover, all of them were also bundled in a boxset with a DVD and/or other special features. Volume 11 included a crossover with Fairy Tail[2].
It ended on May 18, 2011, with a total of 211 chapters. [3]The manga is collected into tankōbon volumes by Kodansha, which has released 22 volumes and an official guidebook as of April 15, 2011.[4][5]Reviews of the series have been very positive.[6] The series has been licensed in Chinese and English by the Singaporean publishing company Chuang Yi under the title Flunk Punk Rumble. As of February 24, 2010, they have released nine volumes in Chinese and three in English.
